Kiss Me Kate. . .You're Famous!

A recent event held at MK Gallery for one night only brought together artists and their unfinished pieces for the opportunity to critique each others work.  The event was covered by MK News last week and their article was printed to include an image of my Kate's Kiss II (work in progress).

Wall Art

A newly refurbed 'pent house suite' called for a touch of artistic decoration from yours truly at my families request.  Typography, drawn and painted by hand, is not as easy and straight forward as it would appear. . .appearances do indeed deceive.  This painting was copied from another and obviously captures the lyrics from a well known tune, so blatantly obvious and well known that I shall refrain from spelling this out to you!

My second piece of decor is in its early stages and is by no means complete.  The roses are on inspiration of artist Thomas Darnell's Peonies IV as sought after by mi madre paso upon sight printed in a popular home decorating magazine.  Darnell, at the age of 33. . .i beg your pardon - 34 in fact, uprooted himself and his family from everyday life in Texas to dedicate and concentrate upon his art in gay Paris.  I count this with great relief and excitement knowing that it is never too late to up-heave and throw yourself into your dreams.  Life, as Mr Gump would say, is a box of chocolates.  Enjoy!

Twenty One

Adapting to the growing demand for conceptualised and abstracted art, my fine art degree saw the development of my work into layered images tackling issues of identity and personality, intertwined on themes of fashion, sexuality and sensuality.
